Wildflowers along road and rail routes

Golden-rod on the A7 verge, Roxburghshire, 2016

An interesting new survey has just been published by Michael Braithwaite, BSBI President 2008-2011 and County Recorder for Berwickshire for many years.

Michael has conducted an in-depth survey in Roxburghshire over the past two years to compare the flora of part of the A7 with that of a 20 mile stretch of disused railway near Hawick. His survey is available here as a pdf and print copies are available on application to the author.

With characteristic generosity, Michael is making both the pdf and the booklet available free of charge to any botanists who are interested. You can also download his Botanical Tour of Berwickshire here - and again it's free of charge.
